Little Ladybirds Day Nursery’s first fundraising event in aid of its new charity of the year has raised over £600.
We are supporting local children’s hospice Zoë’s Place over the next 12 months, and in September, held an autumn fayre featuring table-top stalls, face painting, tombola, cakes and refreshments.
The event was well supported by parents, families, friends and general members of the public and it resulted in £608 being raised for Zoë’s Place Middlesbrough.
Zoë’s Place is an independent registered Children’s Charity providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to 5 years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Rachael Willmore, Community Fundraiser for Zoë’s Place, said: “Zoë’s Place is closed two nights per week due to lack of funds and we need to find £1.5 million each year just to run the charity, so every penny raised matters.
“The £600 raised by Little Ladybirds will enable us to provide 20 hours of care for a child, so that makes a huge difference.
“We would like to thank everyone at the nursery for their kind support.”
Little Ladybirds Manager Jennifer Thompson said: “We were delighted to raise so much money for Zoë’s place at our first fundraising event of the year.
“As a nursery providing day care for babies and children up to five, Zoë’s Place is a charity very close to our hearts, so we want to raise as much as possible for the charity over the next 12 months.
“We can only do this with the support of our staff, parents, families and members of the public and based on our first event, it’s clear that everyone is committed to helping us achieve our target.”
