Monthly round-up

Here’s our monthly round-up of activities at Little Ladybirds, providing just a small snapshot of what we got up to in April.

Babies

Babies enjoyed taking parts in lots of messy activities, including playing with rice krispies, flour, sand, and water.

They also explored various sensory play activities with touch and licking ice lollies definitely their favourite!

Coach Shane

If a child at Little Ladybirds goes on to score the winning goal for their team at Wembley in the years to come, the chances are that in their post-match interview, among the people they will thank for helping them to reach this pinnacle is Coach Shane.

They will, of course, be referring to Shane Readman, the football coach who comes into the nursery each week to support the children.

But it’s not just actual football that the children are learning when he’s at the nursery.

Sign language expert

Before she became a sign language expert Dawn Thorpe had her own beauty therapy businesses, which may not be as different as it may seem.

“After all both involve using your hands,” she jokes.

However, that is where the similarities begin and end and for the past 16 years, Dawn has run her successful Signing Tots business, using sign language to help children in the education sector, particularly in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
